Primarily made for the Scottish market, a Toddy is a pot of ovoid shape standing on three or four feet used to hold hot water to be added carefully to a spirit such as whiskey to make the famous ‘Hot Toddy’.
Our Toddy has a rare amber handle and is in very good condition.
It carries the mark of the quality maker James Clews Family, considered best in Birmingham, the home of fine metal ware. The spouts on the Clews toddy’s were securely soldered to a spigot raised on the kettle body instead of being inserted and soldered directly to the body.
