Block Front Chest of Drawers with Secretaire
Out of stock
Historically a block-front case of furniture has a symmetrical, undulating facade made up of three vertical blocks, two of them bowed or convex and one curved in or concave. Ideally the front is carved from a solid piece of wood. A block-front is a costly addition to a piece of furniture and generally served as a status symbol for wealthy owners.
Our chest with secretaire has a top-drawer that actually is a drop down, revealing pigeon holes and small drawers. The facade is hand cut.
It is shown in rare burr oak and has hand wrought iron pulls.
