Our client found an old auction catalog photo of the desk he desired. Our copy of the original George IV writing table with lovely ebony stringing and inlay met that desire.
As with the original, for the decorative inlay work and knobs, we used actual ebony wood, not ebonized mahogany. The top is a leather hide, with 4 hand-tooled lines and custom gilt bronze decorative hardware and detail.
