Leather Chest of Drawers
Out of stock
Since the mid 16th century, cabinetmakers have been utilizing upholsters to add the element of nail head trim to furniture designs. Their goal was to cover ‘inferior’ timber or to increase the value of the item to the client.
Nail head application is a laborious, time consuming task. Each nail is applied by hand and it takes a true artisan to get everything just right.
Ours is a large chest covered in hand stained cowhide and decorated with hand studded brass nail head trim and heavy hand cast hardware.
Examples here show a variety of sizes and leather stain colours. Often we have the nail head trim plated to appropriately accent the color of the leather selected.
